I hold a certificate, post graduate diploma and Masters degree in Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling.
I am also trained in the facilitation of Dynamic Interpersonal Theapy (DIT).
In addition to my private practice, I am employed as a counsellor with MIND, the leading mental health charity for England and Wales.
I also see NHS referrals through the The Counselling Foundation. Whilst with the YMCA, I gained extensive experience working with adolescents.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with whom I am professionally registered as a counsellor. I have full professional indemnity insurance and hold an enhanced CRB check.
Areas of work
I believe that by talking about life experiences and sharing emotions, we can provide some clarity and understanding of ourselves. If for some reason we cannot express the way we feel then this can impact on our well being.
My aim is to listen to you in a supportive and non-judgemental way, help you make sense of your situation, understand your feelings and then find a way forward that works for you. In some cases, this might be down to initiating a small but significant change in your life which might make all the difference.
